RRR putting an End to many movies?
The magnum opus rrr is ready to hit theatres this Friday, and india is counting down the days till march 25th. However, industry insiders are anticipating the release of this picture since the success of this Rajamouli-directed film will effectively put an end to a string of successful films now rattling the box office.
For the sake of rrr, practically all telugu cinemas will be showing existing films such as Raddhe Shyam, Bheemlaa Naayak, and other short films such as Standup Raahul and others. Except for Bheemlaa Nayak, which is doing okay at B & C theatres, the rest of the movies aren't doing well at all. As a result, RRR's entrance will effectively put a halt to these films.
Then there's Bollywood, where 'The kashmir Files' is causing a stir, while 'Bachhaan Pandaay' is also doing well, and 'Gangubhai Kathiaawadi' is doing well on weekends and holidays after a successful run of over 100 crores. With the exception of 'The kashmir Files,' all other films will most likely be removed from theatres as soon as rrr arrives. If rrr generates blockbuster buzz on Day 1, the run of even the most successful films will be jeopardised, as people in both the North and South have been waiting for a real commercial film with all the garam qualities for a long time.
