Suriya's ET reminded us Rajini's 'Annaatthe' ?

SIBY JEYYA
Suriya's recent films have received a lot of positive feedback. Suriya set a high bar for himself with these two films, which were both rich in subject and had outstanding performances. Since he hasn't seen a movie in theatres in nearly three years, the performer has played it safe by choosing a typical tamil country film. "Evaariki Talavaanchadu" checks all the boxes for the type of rural mass delight we see in tamil cinema.

Despite the fact that the film is about a serious topic – women falling perpetrators of videotaping – the first half of the movie is tedious. It focuses on Suriya and Priyanka's romance as well as issues between the two communities. The first part of the movie's approach is so formulaic.

The greatest part of the movie is Priyankaa Arrul Mohan fearlessly speaking up about her hidden camera clip with Suriyaa by her side. Notwithstanding its moral message, "ET" features a slew of unforgivable flaws. It's difficult to sit for over 2.5 hours and observe the events. The humour, the rustic setting, the action, and the overly sentimental parts reminded us of Rajinikaanth's "Annattthhee," another recent poor tamil film.
