In Taapsee Pannu's 'Shabaash Mithu,' mumtaz will play Jhulan Goswami.


Yes, the talented actress is playing a pivotal role in Sreejit Mukherjee's 'Shabash Mithu', the biopic of indian women's cricket captain Mithali Raj.
 Mumtaz will be seen as Jhulan Goswami, another icon of indian women's cricket. Mithali's title character will be played by Taapsee Pannu.


Mumtaz, who has recently traveled to mumbai to complete the dubbing part, is extremely excited to be a part of yet another sports film.

 I am playing the character of the legendary Jhulan Goswami and it is super special for me. Since it is a film on cricket, we asked mumtaz if she is a cricket fan.


 I had also won several gold medals at the YMCA. But cricket was the one that didn't grab my attention. I know it sounds strange because the whole country is crazy about cricket.


Now, of course, I find the game interesting. I've played it. I have also taken training for this. I love sports more these days, said the actress.
Talking about her favorite cricketer, mumtaz says that Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Jhulan Goswami are the ones she admires.


Is he a better bowler or batsman? He said, 'I believe that at the moment I am a better bowler because my character in the film is a fast bowler. I am practicing bowling more than batting. But, I prefer both as both have their  benefits,” mumtaz signed off.
