Pushpa will be Tollywood Answer to Paruthiveeran
Allu arjun during his recent interview with tamil magazine Vikatan said pushpa will be Tollywood's answer to the Paruthiveeran movie. He said, "Paruthiveeran has been the trendsetter for rural backdrop movies and after watching that movie I had the urge to do a similar movie in Telugu. I always had discussions related to that with sukumar and at that period, he crafted 'Rangasthalam' with ram Charan.
I felt so happy as he made it commercially successful. When I met him after some days, he said to me he had another script in the commercial genre with a rural backdrop and I was busy with Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. When I heard the script, I immediately decided, I need to sign this and start working on it. That's how Pushparaj breathed life and as we started crafting we decided to make this a Pan-India release as the story involves all regions.
But, in particular, it will be familiar with the tamil audiences as the story happens at the tirupati data-border. We never had any plans to make it a Pan-India release, but with consecutive shooting days and the output we have seen, we decided to make it a bigger one indeed and the film output was large on canvas than we wanted it to be. It was all team work and we need to give due credits to the whole team and cast members. "
