Shankar's second film, Indian-2, stars Kamal Haasan. Lyca was in charge of the film's production. During the making of the movie, there were some issues between shankar and Lyca. As a result, shankar postponed Indian-2 to direct a telugu film with Ramcharan.

Against this backdrop, a judge dismissed Lyca's plea in the chennai high court, which sought an injunction against filmmaker shankar for directing other films before finishing Indian-2. On behalf of Lyca, a legal challenge was filed.

However, Lyca filed a lawsuit before the high court to stop it. Because there was no peace on both sides, the court requested retired Judge Banumati to hold talks with all factions and find a smooth solution. Following the trial, he stated that shankar was not prevented from directing the telugu film.

In the high court, however, the case was maintained, with shankar being allowed to make another picture only if he continues to direct Indian-2.

When the Indian-2 case is heard again, the judges have decided that the dispute between shankar and Lyca would be settled by a retired judge.

The appeal was heard by Chief Justice sanjeev Banerjee and Justice PD Adikesavalu Wednesday. Retired supreme court Judge R. Panumathi had been appointed to investigate the situation, according to Lyca's counsel at the time. We're going to join him in his mediation sessions. shankar was not going to refuse to direct another film at the time.
