Twitteratis slam this movie for Stereotyping

Twitteratis were infuriated by the teaser of the netflix movie 'Meenakshi Sundereshwarar' for limitless stereotyping of South indian people, particularly Tamilnadu.

India is a vast and diverse country consisting of different people and different cultures.

While its a proud thing about our country.

People often get into stereotyping when talking about other cultures.

This is a usual problem and has been in cinema as well for a while, the stereotyping of the particular region of people based on what they know.

Being so, the teaser of 'Meenaskhi Sundareshwarar' that was released yesterday was bashed by Twitterati for stereotyping.

The movie which looks like a romantic drama between two indifferent people has is set in Tamilnadu.

While this is fine, everything else about the movie was wrong.

The repetitive references to Rajinikanth, playing a kuthu song in the background, all Tamils portrayed as brahmins and their dressing sense etc.

While some Twitterati were busy bashing the teaser, one user went ahead and tagged CS Amudhan, (popular spoof movie director in Kollywood) and asked him to make a spoof on this.

He slyly replied that “what’s left to make”.

The movie produced by karan johar stars sanya malhotra and abhimanyu Dasani as its lead.

Vivek soni has written and directed the movie.

The Netfix movie is set to premiere on november 5th, 2021.
