At that time, Akshara was dating veteran actress Rati Agnihotri's son tanuj virwani and everyone was blaming him.
Even though they broke up on mutual terms everyone suspected Tanuj to do the foul play in this unfortunate incident. After all these years, Now Tanuj has opened up about this controversy during his interview with RJ siddharth and he said, "Everything that got leaked was completely unfortunate and I wanted to clarify that Akshara and I parted ways on a mutual note.
I was just climbing my career and these leaked photos completely blow me down and I was shocked. And after that, whatever I do that unfortunate leaks entered my way and I was constantly asked all sorts of dirty and embarrassing questions. No one is innocent until proven guilty in this society and I was guilty until things got proven that I never did it. I even called Akshara and she said, of course, you never did this and I could have easily posted that on social media, but I stayed away and that was the final conversation we had together."
