Suriya's latest blockbuster movie 'Soorarai Potru' which garnered unanimous positive reviews is going to be remade in Hindi. The movie will be directed by sudha Kongra herself who helmed the project in tamil and telugu already. vikram Malhotra and Abundantia Entertainment are said to bankroll the project along with the 2D Entertainment, Suriya's own production company. Abundantia Entertainment were the producers of hit films like Sherni and Airlift etc. The news about other cast and crew members to be released in the upcoming days.
Suriya's 'Soorarai Potru' was the first direct OTT release of a big star in tamil industry. The movie released on amazon Prime on november 12, 2020. The movie released simultaneously in telugu titled as 'Aakasam Nee Haddu Raa' had aparna balamurali as the leading lady with Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, karunas and mohan babu in prominent roles. gv prakash was the music director of the movie. The movie which set an amazon Prime viewership record and was a huge hit in both the languages and was a trendsetter for the big stars to release their movies in OTT platforms. Suriya's last release in hindi was 'Raktha Charithra 2' directed by ram gopal varma in 2010.
