Anushka Shetty demands 'More' and 'More'

SIBY JEYYA
Bubbly beauty Anushka Shetty, last seen in the SS Rajamouli directed Magnum opus Baahubali series as the bold and beautiful warrior princess Devasena who waits for her moment of revenge and glory, and amazed with her performance, was not seen on screen for quite some time now, and only concentrated on getting herself fit and back in shape for her new projects.

The gorgeous Anushka, is now back after a hiatus, fit and in form, and is all set to grace screens this week, in her Republic Day release, the social thriller Bhaagamathie directed by G Ashok of Pilla Zamindar fame. The film, with excessive VFX shots and thrilling spine-chilling horror sequences, had numerous delays and reshoots to achieve perfection, before finally locking January 26 as the release date.

As she's busy promoting Bhaagamathie in Tamil Nadu, AP/TG as well as Kerala, recently during a promotional event, she was questioned on the gender disparity existing in the film industry and the reason why Actresses aren't getting higher or equal wages as actors.

Anushka gave an unexpected and different option on this issue, as she said that the success or failure of a movie heavily impacts the actors than Actresses and that they shoulder many movies solely and hence they deserve to be paid better, and further added that instead of demanding equal pay for actors and actresses, it's good If directors are focusing on scripts that highlight and give scope for Actresses to excel, so that actresses get more demand and package as well.
