Mammootty’s 65th Birthday Special Edition

Mollywood actor Mammootty aka Muhammed Kutty Panapparambil, the megastar of Malayalam movie industry turns 65 on September 7th and as usual, the actor has celebrated his birthday in a very simple way, in the presence of his family members.



The megastar is surely a huge inspiration for every youngster who dreams of cinema. Mammootty is one of those actors who made a place in the industry without any godfathers. He has astonished the industry with his growth from a non-actor to one of the finest actors that Indian cinema has ever seen.



The actor was born as the eldest son of Ismail Panapparambil and Fathima on September 7th, 1951 in Chempu, a small village in Kottayam district of Kerala, has two younger brothers and three younger sisters. It is stated that despite being from a traditional Muslim family with no movie background, Mammootty was deeply passionate about Cinema since his young age.


He has decided to try his luck at films, after completing LLB from Ernakulam Govt. Law College. But, Mammootty was rejected by most of the film-makers, who has pointed out his looks and voice as the major minus points, which is ironical today. Later, he completed the Law Graduation and started practicing as an advocate at Manjeri Court. He made his lead role debut with “Devalokam” in 1979. Mammootty was also honored with the fourth highest civilian award of the country, Padma Shri in 1998.
