In the reply given by the bank, it is written, 'Know that Rs 147.50 is debited every year as maintenance of ATM cum debit card.'Bank balance requiredIf your transaction fails in the ATM due to lack of balance in the bank, then now you will have to pay a fine for it. state bank will now impose a penalty on you for this lapse. According to the bank, if you do not have balance, then you will have to pay a fine of Rs 20 for every unsuccessful transaction. sbi provides you the facility to check the balance in the savings account through missed call and SMS to the customers to avoid this penalty. It is better to check your balance before withdrawing money from ATM.
