World bank has determined the new global poverty line...


The earnings of crores of people of the world have decreased during the Covid period. Some are not left at all. Inflation has reached the high of many years. Due to which the problems of the common people are increasing continuously. The poor is getting poorer and poorer. Because of which the World bank has also changed the scale of poverty or rather the definition. According to the World bank, someone who earns $2.15 or less per day will be considered extremely poor.


Poor will be considered earning Rs 167 daily

According to the World bank, now a person earning $ 2.15 or less or Rs 167 per day will be considered very poor. Earlier this figure was Rs 145 per day. The World bank changes the definition of extremely poor from time to time. In which, along with the increase in the cost of living, many parameters are made the basis. At present, the assessment of the poor is done on the basis of the data of the year 2015. However, many things have changed in the meantime. Because of which the World bank had to change its standards.

New standards will be applicable from the end of this year

This new standard of the World bank is expected to be implemented by the end of this year. The new global poverty line has been fixed using 2017 prices in the new standard. Now the new poverty line has been set at $2.15. This means that if a person is living on an income of less than $2.15 a day, then he will be considered in the category of extremely poor.
