The Income Tax Department has announced that the website for filing tax returns has been simplified. Infosys has created a new website for the Internal Revenue Service. The taxpayers, on the other hand, said that the website was down and that filing taxes was difficult.

The IRS has stated that any additional fees improperly collected at the time of filing income tax will be returned. To provide assistance to income taxpayers, it has been stated that people who pay excessive interest and late penalties due to software fault at the time of submitting their taxes will be refunded both fees.


Following that, Infosys attempted to correct the website's issues. In addition, the government issued a notice to taxpayers extending the deadline. The income tax website is currently reported to be stable in this scenario.

The Income Tax Department claims that the website is now more powerful than ever, with more than 2 crore income tax returns filed. The deadline to file income tax for the 2020-21 fiscal year is december 31. As a result, the Internal Revenue service has requested that everyone file an income tax return as soon as feasible.


More than 1.70 crore income tax returns have been verified online, with another 1.49 crore being certified on a case-by-case basis, according to the IRS.
