What is the need for electricity in farming? The availability of electricity in farming has a great impact on the crop yield. According to the report of the Parliamentary Committee, at present, on an average, 2.5 kilowatts of electricity is available on one hectare of land, but it will have to be increased to 4 kilowatts per hectare by 2030.The availability of electricity is also different in different states. For example, in Punjab, 6 kilowatts of electricity is available on one hectare of land, while in Mizoram only 0.7 kilowatts are available. If the supply of electricity is good, then farming work will be done on time and farming will be possible on more land, which will increase production. What is lacking in the use of machines? The committee said that no complete study has been done yet on the use of machines in farming. The indian Council of Agricultural Research has suggested that a study should be done in every state to find out what is lacking in the use of machines and what can be done. The committee also said that there is a shortage of engineers to tell and teach farmers about the machines. Till now only madhya pradesh and tamil Nadu have Agricultural Engineering Department. The government has asked the states to also create such department in their states. The committee has also suggested to create such department in every state. The committee found that a mobile app has been created named Krishi Yantra Mitra. Information is given to farmers through this app. This app should be promoted as much as possible so that all farmers can get the benefit of it.
