Happy National Oreo Cookie Day!!!

March 6th is National Oreo Day, which honors a century-old custom of sweetness and happiness rather than just a cookie. Every year on march 6th, cookie enthusiasts nationwide unite to commemorate one of the most recognizable and cherished confections: the Oreo cookie. With its unique taste and eye-catching black-and-white look, Oreos have won millions of hearts—as well as stomachs—by becoming global icons. However, why is this date chosen for National Oreo Cookie Day, and what is the history of this well-known cookie?

The Oreo Cookie: Who Created It?

The National Biscuit Company (Nabisco), a brand that is linked with biscuits and cookies in the US, created the Oreo cookie.

On march 6, 1912, Oreos were initially offered in Hoboken, New Jersey.

It was originally made available to the general public in 1912 when it was one of three "highest class biscuits" in a unique tin. A few Nabisco employees are credited with creating the Oreo's distinctive design and recipe, however, the person responsible for it is still somewhat of a mystery. Still, the cookie's legacy is most defined by its continued appeal.

The Oreo Cookie's History

The Oreo cookie, which was first introduced in 1912, has developed into the 21st century's best-selling sweet treat. It was created and manufactured at the Chelsea factory in New York City, where it was first known as "Oreo Biscuit." The recipe and appearance of the Oreo have changed over time, but its core appeal to both young and old has remained constant.
