Handicrafts Fair and Food Festival in Chennai

On behalf of tamil Nadu Tourism and Tourism Development Corporation, sports Development minister Udayanidhistalin yesterday inaugurated the "Chennai Festival-2023" which will be held till May 14 at chennai Island. Following the event, he inaugurated and visited the halls for the exhibition and food festival for hand-dyed international handlooms and traditional handicrafts of the weavers.
The festival is held on a grand scale at a cost of Rs.1.50 crore. In the exhibition, artisans from 10 foreign countries displayed their products in 30 halls in an eye-catching way. Apart from this, artists from 20 foreign countries in india have displayed their works in 83 halls, and textiles produced by tamil Nadu handloom weavers, silk sarees, Co-op-Tex fabrics of handloom cooperatives, Poombukar handicrafts etc. have been placed in 70 halls.
Also, a Saras mela sale exhibition of women's self-help group products was organized by the tamil Nadu Women's Development Corporation. In this regard, a total of 311 halls have been set up in the chennai festival. Along with this, 30 food halls have also been set up. A fee of Rs.10 is charged to the public to visit the exhibition from 11 am to 10 pm every day.
