Tamil Nadu is the world's fourth poorest state, according to the first Multidimensional Poverty Index just released by the Finance Commission. In Bihar, the state with the highest poverty rate, 51.91 percent of the
population lives in poverty, while
tamil Nadu has a poverty rate of 4.89 percent.
kerala, Goa, and Sikkim, for example, have lower poverty rates than
tamil Nadu.
tamil Nadu is notable for having a bigger
population than these states.
The Multidimensional Poverty Level Index study by the Commission is based on the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Program and the United Nations Development Program. Nutritional food, child and adult mortality, maternity care, children's schooling,
school attendance, cooking fuel, bathroom facilities, power, housing, assets, and
bank accounts are all used to calculate these poverty indexes.
The Finance Commission's Poverty Level Index is based on the 2015-16 National Family Survey. These codes highlight the importance of focusing on education, well-being, and quality of life in India.
tamil Nadu is proud of the fact that it beats other states in satisfying these basic needs. It might also spell the
victory of state
politics in
tamil Nadu, where state parties have ruled since the late 1960s.
Tamil Nadu is also at the top of Nithi Ayog's list of sustainable developed cities. After
kerala,
tamil Nadu is ranked second. On a scale of one to ten,
kerala and
tamil Nadu differ significantly. It's worth noting that
tamil Nadu, in comparison to states like industrialised
gujarat and Maharashtra, leads the way in terms of urban sustainable development. Because urban growth is reliant on employment, it has been discovered that
tamil Nadu cities have relatively better living circumstances with employment than other states.
