Why reading and sharing stories is important for kids?
Reading is the classic way to expand their vocabulary, as a child will pick up new words as they hear them. If they don't recognize a word, they will more than likely ask for an elaboration, so always encourage this kind of questioning. Storytelling also promotes children to be creative and use their imagination to picture the setting, the characters, and the story as it unfolds. Storytelling gives children a window to new worlds.
It provides them the opportunity to learn new ideas and information; without recognizing it, they are learning valuable life lessons through listening an engaging, exciting story. Sparking a passion for reading from a young age is so important for a child's growth, and it's fun too!
