No solid proof that Covid 3rd wave will affect kids, says Indian Academy of Pediatrics

The central government has finally opened up about the much rumored third wave and its effect on children. There were speculations doing the rounds across the country that the impending third wave will highly show its effects on children, which is making the parents spend sleepless nights. Citing the same, the experts have come forward and addressed the matter. They ruled out the possibility that kids will be infected in the third wave.


On monday the central government said that the data that was collected so far doesn't show any such threat to kids. With the increased cases in the second wave and the most affected ones being the younger generations this time,parents are worried to death about the impending third wave that is said to show its effects on children.


Meanwhile, Dr VK Paul, one of the important members of the PM's Covid management team, said, "It is uncertain that a wave would affect children specifically. Till now, children have displayed similar seroprevalence as adults, which means, they are as much affected as adults."


He further  said, "If adults get vaccinated then it would be difficult for the virus to reach the children. AIIMS, delhi Director Dr. Randeep Guleria said, "There has been no solid evidence to prove that children will be infected the most during the third Covid-19 wave."
