The Sour Grapes
Once a fox was wandering around in search of food. She came to the edge of the woodland where she lived. She saw that a vineyard was nearby. She went there and saw ripe juicy grapes hanging there. The fox jumped up to reach them but could not.
She gathered courage and jumped again with her full strength but still could not reach the grapes. Yet she kept trying to reach the grapes by jumping again and again. Soon she started sweating and grew tired. She stopped and took a deep breath.
Then she sighed and said ' Oh! why try so hard for such sour grapes ? Let them be .' With such thoughts the fox went back to the woodland.
Moral : One must accept defeat sportingly.
