Three Battlefield Heroes, One Honour .!

Param Vir Chakra has been bestowed upon only three living soldiers in the indian Army. These exceptional individuals, recognized for their extraordinary courage, are hailed as true heroes.


Grenadier Yogendra Yadav:

   Grenadier Yadav, a member of Grenadier Battalion 18, exhibited unmatched bravery during the Kargil war on July 4, 1999. Tasked with capturing three strategic bunkers on tiger Hill, situated at an altitude of 16,500 feet, he led a lethal commando platoon through treacherous terrain. Despite being shot in the waist and shoulder, Yadav pressed forward, climbing 60 feet to reach the top. Crawling to the bunkers, he launched a grenade assault on Pakistani soldiers, eliminating them. Despite sustaining 15 bullet wounds and injuries from two grenades, Yadav informed his commanding officer of the enemy's actions and guided his comrades. After spending 16 months in the hospital, he made a remarkable recovery, earning him the Param Vir Chakra.

Rifleman Sanjay Kumar:

   Rifleman Kumar, the leading scout of 13 JAK Rifles, was assigned the mission to capture Flat Top, an area occupied by Pakistani militants on July 4, 1999. Despite being shot in the chest and shoulder, Kumar crawled forward amidst enemy fire, seizing their machine gun and eliminating three soldiers. Undeterred by his injuries, he demonstrated exceptional courage, earning him the Param Vir Chakra.

Naib Subedar Bana Singh:

   Naib Subedar Bana Singh displayed extraordinary bravery in june 1987 while posted to the 8th kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">jammu and kashmir Light Infantry in the siachen area. When Pakistani infiltrators seized the highest peak at about 6,500 meters, Singh led his soldiers through a perilous path, launching grenade attacks and reclaiming the post. For his exceptional valor, he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, and the peak he captured was renamed Bana Top in his honour.
