History of international Cat Day-Things to Know...

August 8 in 2023 will be international Cat Day. Cat lovers all over the world participate in this annual celebration with great passion and excitement. The subject of cats and cat lovers is rather broad. Cats are not the simplest pets to own due to their regal elegance, superior attitude, and unorthodox ways of expressing their "love." But if you are fluent in cat language, nothing and nothing will make you happier than a cat.

Every year on august 8, the beloved feline friends that have been a part of human history for millions of years are honoured on international Cat Day. Various sources claim that cats were originally used by hunters and gatherers. The international Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) introduced international Cat Day in 2002. The goal of the day is to raise public awareness of the suffering of cats worldwide.

Cats have a lengthy and fascinating history. The first evidence of cats coexisting with humans dates back to 7500 BC, when wild cats were first domesticated. These cats assisted people in agriculture, according to researchers, by catching rodents. Cats became even more useful as pest control agents as people started farming.

Stressing the value of safeguarding and caring for cats is one of the main objectives of international Cat Day. This involves provide shelter, wholesome food, and medical care. The goal of the day is to lessen the number of stray cats by encouraging people to adopt a cat from a shelter rather than buying one from a breeder.
