The World's Oldest Company has been active!!!

We know Birla Group in India, and also we consider Tata Group as one of the oldest companies in the country. But do you know which is the oldest company in the world? If you are thinking that this is a british or european company then you are wrong. This is a company from an Asian country only. Yes, this company is established in a country that suffered two nuclear bombs. Even after that, this company is not only alive but has stood like a rock. The name of this company is Kongo Gumi, which is established in Osaka, Japan. The age of this company has been 1444 years. For about 40 generations, this company has been firmly maintained.

This company goes for the construction of temples

Known for the construction of temples, this company was started in the year 578 by a Korean builder named Shigemitsu Kongo. Kongo was invited by prince Shotoku to build a Buddhist temple in Japan.

Faced many disasters

According to Interesting Engineering, business went on, because religion never goes out of style. About 80 per cent of the company's revenue comes from Buddhist temples. The company may be the world's oldest and most resilient, having survived several natural disasters, political crisis, and the two atomic bombs that rocked japan during World war II.

The company slipped from the Kongo family in the 1980s

The company is no longer in the hands of the Congolese family. Due to the collapse in the 1980s, the company became a subsidiary of Takamatsu Construction Group. In the 1980s, the bank of japan kept interest rates extremely low - creating a property bubble of sorts. With this, the companies took on more debt than they had repaid. When the bubble burst, all companies had debt. And so the centuries-old legacy of Kongo Gumi was effectively buried.
