Indian culture is inextricably linked to tea, which is a beverage enjoyed by families and a custom that has been passed down through the generations. Children witness their parents drinking tea from an early age, which frequently inspires them to want to do the same. However, a recent tragic event has sparked an important discussion in the medical community, raising questions about whether even a tiny taste of tea might be harmful to young children.Tragically, a tea-drinking toddler from madhya pradesh who was one and a half years old lost his life. According to reports from The Times of india (TOI), the child suddenly stopped breathing after drinking the beverage and subsequently tragically en route to the hospital despite being taken there. Medical authorities are investigating if young children's tea consumption can have lethal implications as a result of this incidence. The infant had already passed away before arriving at the hospital, thus finding the precise cause of death was difficult, according to Dr. Preeti Malpani, the hospital's superintendent. The problem has been clarified by specialists like Prachi Jain, a nutrition and dietetics specialist at CK Birla Hospital in Gurugram.According to Jain, numerous plants have natural substances like caffeine that are also found in tea leaves. Caffeine can cause restlessness because of its stimulating effects on the brain and neurological system. Due to these effects of caffeine, she vehemently opposes giving children goods that contain tea. Jain advises delaying the introduction of tea to youngsters until they are at least 12 years old.
