Increased risk of corona by self-testing kits..?

Instead of going to government hospitals or any other private hospitals or labs for corona examinations, many people started to buy self-examination kits at home and also at low cost and get it tested at home. Concerns have been raised that without knowing how to use the kit properly and also covid-19 infections may not be known.

And the infected people may also be exposed to the outside world and thus be at high risk of spreading the infection. Hence there is a demand to restrict the sale of self-examination tests in a few places in tamilnadu like Coimbatore. Recently, ICMR had announced that people can do a self-testing of Covid-19 at home if they have any corona symptoms.

There were around seven testing kits that were approved of which six kits are swab tests. These self-test kits are approved in wake of more spread of Omicron cases. This was to make it easy for people to readily make it available at home. The results were also quick. However, many concerns were raised over the accuracy of results and many positive results are being made unknown. This made the corona cases reports collapse recently.
