Does Omicron infection affect the Lungs?

Although the new form of the corona that is shaking the world is more rapidly transmitted than the evolved omicron delta-type viruses, the study revealed that it does not affect the lungs immediately but slowly.

The delta type virus, the Delta Plus variant that evolved from the delta, was first transmitted to the lungs. That is why the pulse rate and the oxygen level drop drastically causing death. But studies show that the omicron is not so slow that it can affect the lungs. A delta virus disease can hardly influence the human lungs over the following days. It has been shown that omicron cause 10 times less damage compared to that data-size.

Researchers at the university of Hong Kong's LKS Pharmaceuticals have published this information after conducting a study on the omicron virus and its severity.

It revealed that the omicron virus replicates itself 70 times more in 24 hours than the delta. In contrast, omicron is less likely to replicate themselves in the lungs than other viruses. Although the omicron virus is a low-potency virus, researchers say that when it infects more people, it can increase the severity of the disease and increase mortality.
