Nationwide Entrance Exam Starts Across India

The Common university Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026 for admission to undergraduate courses in Central Universities and several other higher educational institutions began today, Monday, across the country.

The examination will continue until May 31, with lakhs of students appearing for the highly competitive entrance test conducted for admissions into various undergraduate programmes.

Key Gateway for Higher education Admissions

CUET has become one of the most important entrance examinations for students seeking admission to Central Universities and other participating institutions in India. The exam is conducted for courses in arts, science, commerce, language studies, and several professional streams.

This year’s examination is being held in multiple phases at designated centres across different states to ensure smooth conduct and better management of candidates.

Strict Guidelines and Security Arrangements

Authorities have implemented strict security measures and examination guidelines at all centres. Candidates were advised to arrive early with valid admit cards and identification documents.

Officials stated that surveillance systems, frisking procedures, and monitoring teams have been arranged to prevent malpractice and ensure transparency during the examination process.

Students Arrive with High Expectations

Students appearing for the examination expressed confidence and excitement as the first phase commenced today. Many candidates said they had been preparing for several months to secure admission into top universities.

Parents also accompanied students to examination centres in large numbers, especially in major cities, creating a busy atmosphere outside campuses and testing venues.

Examination Continues Till May 31

According to the schedule, the CUET-UG 2026 examination will continue till May 31 in different sessions. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the exam, is expected to release answer keys and further updates after the completion of all phases.

The examination plays a crucial role in determining admissions to some of India’s leading universities, making it one of the most significant academic events for higher secondary students this year.
