World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day - Help eachother!!
History:After the First globe War, at the 14th international Meeting of the red Cross, the concept for a "annual movement that might hold in the entire world... that would be a major contribution to peace" was explored. This is when World red Cross and red Crescent Day was born. Because Henry Dunant, the man who founded the international Committee of the red Cross, was born on May 8, that date was ultimately selected. On May 8, 1948, the inaugural "International red Cross Day," as it was formerly known, was observed. In 1984, the day's official name, which had evolved over time, was altered to "World red Cross and red Crescent Day." The occasion to honour our worldwide network of red Cross and red Crescent volunteers, to reaffirm our everlasting dedication to a shared humanity, and to pause and consider our Fundamental Principles is today.
