What about being an indian make you ashamed?

This was an incident which took place in Metro train. This made feel that why as a human being instead of questioning others why cant we help out the people who are in need of place.

I was at a hyderabad Metro railway station ten days ago. Everyone sprinted towards the direction of the train as soon as it came. I was lucky to get a seat. The seats on that coach are split between men and women on one side. Everyone was glancing at their phones as soon as the train departed. Unluckily, a pregnant woman was standing next to the guys seated on the opposite side, making it impossible for men to see her. After a while, a woman who was seated in front of us got up and approached us, saying, "Can't you see that pregnant woman who is standing. Can't you just offer the seat," she remarked. Three men rose to offer their chairs after hearing those comments.

The woman who asked the males to stand up had been observing the pregnant woman for ten minutes before she made her request. If she realises that the pregnant woman was standing for 10 minutes, I don't understand a thing. Why didn't she offer her chair? Instead, she responded to the circumstance.
