After completing four months of training, the first batch of Agniveers joined the indian Navy. A total of 2,585 Agniveers, including 273 women, have joined the country's Navy after passing out from the passing out parade held at INS Chilka. Navy Chief Admiral R hari Kumar, Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi, rajya sabha MP and great athlete PT Usha, former indian cricket captain Mithali raj and some ex-naval were also present on the occasion.

On this occasion, Navy officials said that the passing out parade not only marks the successful culmination of rigorous 16 weeks of initial naval training but also marks the beginning of a new journey in the indian Navy. The men and women in the indian Army work together to make the force combat-ready, reliable, cohesive and future-ready.

What did the Navy Chief say to the Agniveers?

During his address, Admiral hari Kumar urged the Agniveers to further hone their skills and develop a strong foundation of knowledge, a desire to learn and a commitment to excel in their respective careers. He asked the Agniveers to uphold the core values of duty, honour and courage of the Navy in the direction of nation-building.

On this occasion, the Admiral also gave awards like medals and prizes to deserving Agniveers. Male winners of the Best Agniveer SSR and MR awards included Amalakanti jayaram and ajith P, who received the Chief of Naval Staff Rolling Trophy and gold Medal, respectively. kushi was declared the best female Agniveer. The rolling trophy, introduced to remember the vision of the late General Bipin Rawat, the first Chief of Defense Staff, was presented to him by the daughters of General Rawat. Earlier in the day, during the closing ceremony, the Chief of the Naval Staff presented the overall championship trophy to Eklavya Division and the runners-up trophy to Angad and shivaji Divisions.
