World Kindness Day: How to Release Happy Hormones?

The feeling of kindness makes both the mind and the brain feel good because the secretion of happy hormones in the brain increases with this feeling. Today i.e. on november 13, there are not one or two reasons behind celebrating World Kindness Day.

Kindness is a symbol of humanity and keeping an attitude towards others is also beneficial for oneself. Kindness creates such chemical reactions inside a human being that both the mind and the brain feel good.

In fact, due to kindness, the dopamine hormone, which is known as the happy hormone, is rapidly activated in the brain. When the dopamine hormone is activated, a person shows interest in welfare works. And you must have also felt that after helping someone you would feel very good. Actually, this happens only because of the dopamine hormone. So let us know why kindness is necessary for a human being and what are its benefits.

Reduces stress

Kindness also works to reduce stress. According to the university of british Columbia (UBC) report, stress is associated with low positive affect (PA). That is, due to your low positive affect, your creativity starts decreasing. But when you help someone or show kindness to someone, then this low positive effect turns into a high positive effect and due to this, you start working with happiness, interest in some work and more alertness.

kindness is good for your heart too

Kindness releases the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin releases a chemical called nitric oxide in the blood vessel, which dilates (spreads) the blood vessel. It lowers blood pressure and hence oxytocin is known as a 'cardioprotective' hormone as it protects the heart by lowering blood pressure.

It may help you live longer

You may be surprised to hear this but we are not saying that studies have been done to prove it. Several studies have shown that if you do not have a strong network of family and friends, you are at a higher risk of heart disease. When you are kind to others, you build strong and meaningful relationships and live longer. So, go ahead and make some new friends or use your kindness and do something special for the ones you already have.
