Many a time, after booking the ticket, the train passengers are facing difficulties due to not being able to travel. In that situation, they should cancel the ticket. Then take a new ticket. However, getting a confirmed ticket every time is not easy. Due to this, the railways came up with this new facility.
As per the new rules of the Railways, a passenger can transfer his confirmed ticket in the name of his family members like father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, or wife. For this, passengers have to make a request 24 hours before the departure of the train. After this, the passenger's name will be removed from the ticket and the name of the member whose name the ticket has been changed will be written.
However, indian Railways said that train ticket exchange can be done only once. This means that if a passenger has transferred his ticket to someone else, that ticket cannot be transferred to anyone else later. So, if you have already transferred a ticket to someone, you cannot get this service a second time.
Ticket change requests should be raised 24 hours before train departure. If there is any festival, wedding event, or personal problem, the passenger can change the ticket 48 hours before departure. You have to take the Aadhaar card or voter ID card of the person you want to change the ticket to the reservation counter at your nearest railway station and apply for the ticket exchange.
