When did Vadilal start?

Vadilal ice cream has been started since the year 1907 i.e. before independence. In fact, in the year 1907, Vadilal gandhi of gujarat laid its foundation. Vadilal gandhi then used to make and sell ice cream from the traditional 'kothi'. In the year 1926, Vadilal's son Ranchodlal gandhi opened the first retail store in ahmedabad city in the name of Vadilal Soda Fountain.


4 outlets were opened till India's independence

Ranchodlal gandhi started expanding his company even before the independence of India. Even before the independence of the country, four outlets of Vadilal had opened. In the year 1950, Ranchodlal gandhi started selling Cassata ice cream which became very popular among the customers, and from here the story of becoming the brand of Vadilal ice cream started. In the year 1961, this legally shaped company was given to Vadilal to operate professionally.

How did a 650 crore company become?

In the year 1990, the fourth generation of the Vadilal family took over this business. In recent times, Vadilal industries Private Limited has been bifurcated and the company is operating under two different names. In recent times, this ice cream company has had a turnover of about Rs 650 crore.
