Celebrate the Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, this year it is celebrated on february 01. Chinese New Year is celebrated for 15 days, is also known as the Spring Festival. It is celebrated by Chinese people all over the world with slightly different traditions.
When is the 2022 Lunar New Year / Chinese New Year?Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year is celebrated for two days with much enthusiasm. Those two days are january 31 (New Year's Eve) and february 01 this year. Lunar New Year is not celebrated on the same date every year. It is celebrated with the rotation of the moon. It is usually celebrated between january 20 and february 21 each year, according to the Gregorian calendar.
The year 2021 is the year of the bull as it is associated with every animal every year such as rat, bull, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. So this year 2022 represents the year of tiger. Chinese New Year Celebrations - People clean their homes on the eve of Chinese New Year. Thus they hope that the sorrows and misfortunes of the past year will be removed and they will be blessed with luck and prosperity. The color red is very important, especially for the Chinese people. On this New Year, people will decorate their houses with red and the adults in the house will give the children money in red covers. They will also exchange gifts, organize large banquets and invite guests to a banquet, celebrating their New Year critically with lots of firecrackers, dancing dragons, and lions. Mainly this Chinese New Year celebration will be held for 2 weeks. This year the celebration will culminate with the Akal Lantern festival on the 15th of february, the full moon.
