A lot of people have moved from rural to urban life and are living in bondage with plants. Terraces play an important role in creating that connection. While a lot of people are interested in setting up a terrace garden, they are still looking for ways to implement it, where to get the seeds, where to get the bags, and where to get the drills.
They are imparting training through tamil Nadu Agricultural university, Anna Nagar, Chennai. But, it is offered as free training. Training is provided free of cost on the terrace of the Kattupakkam Agricultural Science Center (Krishi Vigyan Kendra- KVK) near the Potheri Railway Station, very close to Chennai.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Nisha, President of the Center for Agricultural Sciences, said that vegetables are essential for our daily lives.
According to a nutrition study, a person should eat 300 grams of vegetables and 85 grams of fruits a day. However, at present, a person can consume only 120 grams of vegetables per day. There are many reasons for this. However, with terrace gardening, we can remedy it to some extent. The terrace garden has been an important drain for us to easily grow the vegetables we need in the best way possible. So the government is encouraging terrace gardening in urban areas. Setting up a terrace may enhance the beauty of the home. There is a way to get quality vegetables other than vegetables that are chemically produced. Terrace gardening is very helpful to have a productive time at home.
