Will MK Stalin - KCR meeting be a Turning Point in National Politics?

SIBY JEYYA
K. chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of telangana, recently visited chennai and met with MK Stalin, the chief minister of tamil Nadu, to reflect on national politics. The question is whether the gathering is part of a political effort to establish a non-Congress coalition in opposition to the ruling BJP. Although chandrasekhar Rao sought such an alliance in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in order to prioritize farmer interests, the proposal was dropped following the BJP's massive victory. Now it appears that he has resumed his efforts to form a new non-Congress alliance with the BJP.

Following his return from visiting Stalin, chandrasekhar Rao embarked on unprecedented mass protests against the ruling BJP. The protests are aimed towards increasing paddy procurement levels. However, because he has not engaged in any such fight against the bjp in the last seven years, he has become the center of attention in national politics. As he investigates and meets people, his attention shifts to Stalin.

Political experts also point out that chandrasekhar Rao, who advocates for farmers' rights, did not meet with the demonstrators during his recent visit to Delhi. It has also been chastised for blaming the national government for telangana farmers' unmet requests. If he decides to form a third team, he must decide whether he wants to lead it or coordinate the coalition under the direction of another leader. The answers to these issues may be contingent on the outcome of the next assembly elections.

The DMK hopes to be a part of the central government and stay in power in tamil Nadu with a simple majority. However, there was widespread agreement that the Congress-led opposition to the bjp was insufficient. The question is what the DMK's posture will be if congress does not make a meaningful effort to oust the bjp from office. The DMK not only supports congress because of its opposition to the bjp, but it also does not oppose the bjp because it wants to help Congress. As a result, the question of whether the DMK will join chandrasekhar Rao's third team is a natural one. The DMK will make the final choice.
