India's Tit for Tat hits back at UK
Following their arrival in india, all UK citizens would be required to undergo compulsory quarantine at either home or destination location for a period of ten days. These new regulations will take effect on october 4th. Despite the fact that the Covishield vaccine had been authorised by the UK in its amended travel rules, it had made quarantine mandatory for double-vaccinated indians due to "vaccination certification problems."
All UK travellers, regardless of their vaccination status, will be subjected to this obligatory quarantine upon arrival in India. According to media sources, they will also be required to do three COVID-19 RT-PCR tests: 72 hours before travel, at the airport, and on Day 8 following arrival.
While Covishield is a licenced vaccination against Covid-19, India's vaccine certificate is not recognised by the UK government's newest travel regulations. As a result, the indian government has taken action. Because India's vaccination certification does not appear on a list of 18 recognised nations, indian visitors to the UK are still considered "non-vaccinated" and must undergo a 10-day quarantine upon arrival.
