The National Highways Authority of india (NHAI) has invited bids to provide feasibility and comprehensive project studies for eight ropeway linkages in uttarakhand and himachal pradesh that would connect the most popular pilgrimage and tourism destinations. Ropeways have been assigned to the authority in these two hill states.
The identified ropeway linkages in himachal pradesh include tara Devi temple, Hattu Peak, Chunja glacier, and Bharmani temple, with a total length of 42.5 kilometres. In uttarakhand, three ropeway linkages with a total length of 29 kilometres have been planned. The consultant will identify important success criteria for these projects, recommend the appropriate standards for the job based on the project's purpose and location, and forecast existing and future demand. It will also have to assess the demand for ropeway passenger transportation as well as the seasonality of passenger traffic.
