Kerala at the edge of Onam & 3rd wave?

Kerala's harvest festival, onam, is a major annual event in the southern state. The legendary kerala Sadya kicks off the 10-day celebration, with communities coming together to watch the Vallamkali snake boat race, dance and music performances, and days of get-togethers with friends and family. The coronavirus pandemic has thrown a kink in the state's celebration preparations this year, as it did in 2020. As the struggle against the virus continues, onam, which began on august 12 and will end on august 23, will be commemorated somberly at best this year.

Kerala Govt has started the lockdown as per wards. Recently the Govt has lifted the lockdowns and curfew throughout the entire state. Now the TPR percentage of the state is more than 15% whereas it should be less than 5% as per the WHO guidelines to better isolate.

Inside the households, the onam feast and other ceremonies should be held. Those who visit beaches and tourist attractions must adhere to all COVID-19 requirements. According to state government data, kerala recorded 21,427 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections to 7,25,005. There were also 179 fatalities, according to the report.
