According to the claim, he was dismissed shortly afterwards. A year later, Troia went to Glassdoor to criticise LoanStreet, labelling it "a dishonest, predatory disaster". "Unless you're absolutely needy, stay far, far away." On Glassdoor, he said, "LoanStreet is a roaring dumpster fire, and you will get burnt like many others before you."

Ian Lampl, the CEO of LoanStreet, sued Andrew Troia, his company's former engineer, saying that he was sacked for identifying flaws in another engineer's code. Troia was also accused of purchasing google Ads that attracted attention to his poor ratings for anybody searching for LoanStreet, according to the firm. Troia has established a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for his legal defence, claiming that his claims are accurate. He has raised approximately $5000 so far.
