Kerela CM: harsh punishments for abuse of online study platforms
During the epidemic, Kerala's chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, claimed that wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital school education has been a tremendous achievement, but that there have been attempts to exploit online study platforms for anti-social activities. Although the internet sector has many beneficial characteristics, anti-social forces are increasingly misusing it to perpetrate crimes and deceive youngsters, he added.
"Creating phoney IDs and uploading obscene discussions and films to the (social media) groups in which children, teachers, and parents are members was one example of such an intervention. As a result, we must provide absolute security "he explained.
According to Vijjayan's response to CPI(M) lawmaker Sachin Dev's statement, certain vested interests have recently tried to encroach on the online learning platforms of youngsters.
There is minimal control over internet platforms by the state government because they are predominantly foreign-made. All feasible efforts have been taken, according to manmohan Singh, to curb such crimes. According to him, the police had received 51 similar complaints during the current school year.
The only way youngsters can be made aware of such hazards is by a strict awareness campaign, he added, and "it takes our joint effort."
It was also revealed that the state police had implemented a number of different steps to combat cybercrime at all levels, notably against children and other vulnerable populations.
