What really happened? Let's see why the consumer court told customers to refund. Rajat Sharma and his family have booked tickets for the march 2019 trip to Baktora and back from chandigarh on the Make My Trip site. A fee of Rs. 51,688 has been paid for this and the booking has been confirmed.

No refunds

In the meantime, their return flight has been canceled without any prior notice. This is what Rajat Sharma has complained about. The problem does not end there. Despite repeated attempts, the canceled flight fare was not refunded. The flight was canceled and no alternative arrangements were made for customers.

Meanwhile Rajat Sharma's family has booked another flight and boarded it. The charge is said to be Rs 36,469. Mac My Trip blamed Jet Airways for the non-refund.

Jet Airways was in bankruptcy

But Jet Airways was defunct at the time. It is also worth noting that the National Institutional Law Tribunal was previously in bankruptcy proceedings. The Mac My Trip user agrees exactly with the terms and conditions of the agreement. It also said that the airline was responsible for the cancellation of the flight.

It is in this context that the Consumer court has ordered Mac My Trip to refund the customer of Rs. 29,080 and to pay Rs. 10,000 as compensation for distracting the customer.

Make My Trip appealed to the State Commission against this order. Meanwhile, the state commission which investigated the matter has also confirmed it. Mac My Trip, which charged a fee to book air tickets, also said it had failed to do a proper service. The flight was canceled but no replacement arrangements were made for customers. MacMyTrip has thus rescinded the appeal and upheld the district Commission's order.
