Washington: 4 people shot at outside Nationals Stadium

Four people were shot in Washington outside the nationals baseball stadium crowded with thousands of spectators on Saturday. The game between the Washington and the San Diego Padres was abruptly suspended  after the gunshot echoes were heard in the sixth inning.

The Metropolitan police said four people had been shot and three of them were the shooters, but there was "no ongoing threat".  The shooting was an exchange of gunfire between the people in two cars, leaving three people seriously injured, according to the Police. The fourth injured one was a woman who was attending the game and got struck while she was going outside the stadium, police officials said. Her injuries are reportedly not considered to be life-threatening.

Two people in one of the cars walked into a local hospital after the incident with gunshot wounds and were being questioned, police said. The extent of the injuries of the two people wasn't immediately clear. The second vehicle involved in the shooting is still being pursued by the investigators.

The united states has a painful and long history of deadly gun violence. Incidents of violence being reported  in the form of shootings and mass killings that have targeted work places, schools and shopping centers are on the rise.
