Dry Ingredients:

· 1½ cups all-purpose flour

· 1 tsp baking powder

· ½ tsp baking soda

· ¼ tsp salt

· ½ tsp ground cinnamon

· ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

· ¼ tsp ground cloves

Wet Ingredients:

· ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

· ¾ cup brown sugar

· ¼ cup milk (or plant-based milk)

· 1 tsp vanilla extract

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Soak the Fruits

· Soak the dried fruits in rum, brandy, or orange juice for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

· Drain excess liquid before adding to the batter.

2. Preheat and Prepare Pan

· Preheat oven to 160–170°C (325°F).

· Grease and line a cake pan with parchment paper.

3. Mix Dry Ingredients

· In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.

4. Cream butter and Sugar

· In a separate bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

· Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing well.

5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

· Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture to form a smooth batter.

6. Add fruits and Nuts

· Fold in the soaked fruits and chopped nuts gently, ensuring even distribution.

7. Bake the Cake

· Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

· Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

· Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

8. Optional Decoration

· Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with glaze, or top with extra nuts and candied fruits for a festive touch.
