A Step-By-Using-Step Manner To Make Idli Manchurian, a popular Indo-Chinese language fusion snack wherein smooth idlis are tossed in a highly spiced, tangy Manchurian sauce.


Idli Manchurian Recipe


Elements:


For the idli:


6-eight simple idlis (store-bought or homemade), cut into bite-data-sized cubes


For the sauce:


2 tbsp oil


1 tbsp finely chopped garlic


1 tbsp finely chopped ginger


2-three green chilies, slit or chopped


1 small onion, finely chopped


1 small capsicum (bell pepper), finely chopped


2-3 spring onions (white part), chopped


3 tbsp soy sauce


1 tbsp tomato ketchup


1 tbsp chili sauce (modify to taste)


1 tsp vinegar


1 tsp sugar


Salt to taste.


Half a cup of water or vegetable inventory


1 tbsp cornstarch mixed in 3 tbsp water (for thickening)


Spring onion greens for garnish


Instructions:


Put together the idli:


Reduce idlis into small cubes.


Shallow-fry or pan-fry these idli portions in a bit of oil till they turn golden and slightly crispy on all sides. Take away and maintain aside.


Make the sauce:


Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan or wok on medium heat.


Upload chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until aromatic.


Upload veggies:


Toss in chopped onions, capsicum, and white elements of spring onions. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until veggies melt but stay crunchy.


Add sauces:


Pour in soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, and sugar. Blend well.


Add water.


Pour in half a cup of water or vegetable stock and bring the mixture to a mild boil.


Thicken sauce:


Upload the cornstarch slurry (cornstarch + water) step by step, stirring continuously till the sauce thickens.


Combine idli with sauce.


Add the fried idli cubes to the sauce and toss lightly to coat the entirety evenly. Cook dinner for another 2 minutes so the idli absorbs the flavors.


Garnish & serve:


Sprinkle chopped spring onion vegetables on the pinnacle.


Serve hot as a snack or starter.
