What was the allegation on adani Group?
gautam adani along with his nephew Sagar adani, Vineet S Jain, Ranjit Gupta, Cyril Cabanis, Saurabh Agarwal, deepak Malhotra and Rupesh Agarwal were accused of defrauding investors in the US. The united states Attorney's office said that gautam adani had paid or was planning to pay a bribe of $265 million (about Rs 2200 crore) to government officials to get a solar energy contract in India. To raise the bribe money, these people lied to American investors as well as banks. Since the case was related to adani Green Energy Limited and other firms in which American investors had invested money and the US law says that giving bribe with the money of investors here is a crime, the case was registered in the US. However, the adani Group called these allegations baseless.
