Chennai police have registered 978 cases against employees of various food delivery companies for violating traffic rules and imposed fines of Rs 1,35,400. The staff who carry the food according to the order are constantly engaged in activities such as going too fast and not following the traffic rules to have the food delivered on time. The police often hold consultative meetings with the catering staff on traffic violations and ways to serve food without disturbing the public. However, the company's employees continue to violate traffic rules.
The chennai police have registered 978 cases against employees of various food delivery companies for violating traffic rules and imposed a fine of Rs 35,400. Employees of swiggy and zomato are the more traffic offenders. chennai police on the 30th engaged in a special surveillance operation to prevent the employees of the food delivery company from violating the traffic rules.
It was then revealed that the employees of the food delivery company were violating the traffic rules including violating the traffic rules for the speedy delivery of food, driving too fast, driving without wearing a helmet while talking on the cell phone, going in the wrong direction on the road and not standing at the signals.
The lawsuit was filed against 450 people from swiggy, 278 people from zomato, 188 people from Dunzo, and 62 people from companies including Rapido, Amazon, Big Basket, and Flipkart. Food delivery company employees will be made aware to control traffic violations and those involved in traffic violations will be fined, according to the chennai Police.


Zomato had earlier announced on its twitter page on the 22nd that food would be served within 10 minutes of ordering under the name Instant. zomato was asked to explain what was guaranteed to the safety of the staff carrying the food as per the order.
Following a consultation meeting with the police, zomato officials said the '10 minute delivery plan 'was a pilot project planned to be launched only in a few cities in india and that there were no plans to launch a 10-minute delivery plan called zomato Instant in chennai at present. Similarly, it is noteworthy that any project involving ‘specific delivery time’ will be launched only with forecast and police department coordination.
