It’s smaller than New York’s Central Park, packed tighter than most global cities, and yet somehow functions as one of the richest places on Earth. Around 38,000 people live there, and roughly one in every three residents is a millionaire. Not upper-middle-class. Not “comfortable.” Actual millionaires.
This entire sovereign nation covers barely 2 square kilometers.
And nearly every inch of it screams money.
Luxury yachts clog the coastline. Ferraris and Bugattis appear so often that they almost stop looking special. The country has no personal income tax, almost no unemployment, and one of the highest police-to-resident ratios on the planet. monaco doesn’t merely protect wealth — it’s practically engineered around it.
That’s why many people describe it less as a traditional country and more as a hyper-secure gated community for the ultra-rich that somehow obtained sovereignty.
