M.K. Stalin has written a letter to the concerned
Union Minister, urging immediate action for the release of
Tamil Nadu fishermen who have been detained by foreign authorities.According to reports,
10 fishermen from Ramanathapuram were arrested today by the
Sri Lankan Navy while carrying out their routine fishing activities. In his letter, chief minister stalin emphadata-sized the need for swift diplomatic intervention to secure their safe return, highlighting the recurring challenges data-faced by fishermen operating in the region due to international maritime disputes.The chief minister also called for protective measures and support systems to safeguard the livelihood of fishermen, who are an integral part of tamil Nadu’s coastal economy. He stressed that timely action is crucial to prevent distress among families dependent on these fishermen for their sustenance.
