Chief Minister M.K. Stalin Launches ‘Ungal Kanavai Sollungal’ Initiative in Tiruvallur District

Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin yesterday (January 9, 2026) launched a new people-centric initiative titled ‘Ungal Kanavai Sollungal’ (Share Your Dream) at Padiyanallur in Ponneri, Tiruvallur district. The initiative aims to directly understand public opinion on government schemes and identify the future dreams, needs, and expectations of the people by reaching out to them at their own residences.

Through this program, the tamil Nadu government seeks to strengthen participatory governance by engaging with citizens at the grassroots level. The chief minister emphadata-sized that the initiative is designed to assess the effectiveness of ongoing welfare schemes and gather first-hand feedback from the public, ensuring that future policies data-align closely with people’s real-life needs and aspirations.

By personally visiting residential areas and interacting directly with citizens, the government aims to create a transparent and inclusive administrative model. The initiative reflects the Chief Minister’s vision of responsive governance, where public voices play a key role in shaping development programs.

The launch event was attended by Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare S.M. Nasser, Members of parliament Sasikant Senthil, Dr. Kalanidhi Veerasamy, and R. Girirajan, and Members of the Legislative assembly S. Sudharsanam, S. Chandran, T.J. Govindarajan, V.G. Rajendran, A. Krishnasamy, Durai Chandrasekar, and K.B.P.P. Sankar.

Senior officials present at the event included Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and the Additional Chief Secretary for Revenue and Disaster Management, along with other senior government officials.

The ‘Ungal Kanavai Sollungal’ initiative has been widely welcomed as a meaningful step toward people-driven governance. By prioritizing direct public engagement, the tamil Nadu government aims to translate citizens’ dreams into actionable policies, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive development and sustainable progress across the state.
